Skyline

I'm struggling with this Illustration Friday assignment. I considered trying to draw the Nissan Skyline automobile, but I thought, "nah, thats lame." Then I thought of doing some sweet image of Luray Caverns or something from back home in Virginia, that is somewhere near Skyline Drive... anyways, I settled on another tree sketch:

Kinda a plain... get it? 'Plain'? hi ho!

Very nice sketch! I like how you put all the detail in the sky and tree and minimized the "plains". Oops - sorry, but you did ask for that. :-). Excellent post! BTW there is a Skyline Drive in Idaho Falls too!

dew - Thank you for the comment. I'm a sucker for puns, so keep them coming! I've yet to visit Idaho. Hopefully one of these days I'll make it up there. Oooops its time pour le coupe du monde! Allez Les Bleus!

Simple and effective. I like the texture in the sky and the shading on the tree. Very peaceful. Oftentimes I like sketches better than full-blown paintings because there's something very fresh and direct about them.
